A really exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled, competent and highly professional Area Manager to join a leading specialist charity providing services for people with autism, learning disabilities and Asperger syndrome across Oxfordshire. This charity pride themselves on their ethos and value-based care, placing a huge amount of importance on looking after their staff as much as they do the people who they support – this really is a lovely charity to work for. As an Area Manager you will work with the senior management team to provide operational and commercial leadership across Supported Living services for adults with learning disabilities, autism, Asperger’s, complex care needs and behaviors which may prove challenging.
Area Manager – Responsibilities:
To lead & manage person centred support services that enable people to live their chosen life in their own home in the community.
You will develop and maintain community contacts. Ensuring that support is provided within national regulatory standards and that support staff work to the code of conduct for social care workers.
You will evaluate service performance against the outcomes identified for individuals; contributing to planning, leading and project managing change and new service developments such that the organisation consistently realises its mission and delivers growth and best practice.
You will manage a multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for operational and commercial leadership within supported living services. Adopting a “hands on” approach, you will split your time across your services in Oxfordshire and offer direct support to your management team.

To be considered for this exciting area manager role, it is essential that you hold a relevant care management qualification such as the QCF level 5 in leadership and management or equivalent, can demonstrate an extensive background within management for learning disabilities services and hold a full UK driving license, as travelling between services is a necessity for this job role.
Area Manager – skills required:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience at multi-site management
Experience of working with people with autism and/or a learning disability is essential
Strong leadership skills and the ability to deal with staffing on all levels
Driving License and use of a car
