Our Biodproducts team based in Hillcrest is currently looking for a Technician to join them. If you’re interested in a career working in laboratory environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What the role looks like day to day:
Collection of samples and bioproducts on all type of animals for both health screening and bioproduct activity
Coordinating organization and aseptic collection of oral swab, fur swab, faecal samples and blood on live animals (rodents, lagomorphs and any other species) to deliver samples for health monitoring on site or in customer facilities throughout Europe
Running direct parasitology testing on caecum contains and fur swab for samples collected on animals
Keeping accurate records as required
Who we’re looking for:
Someone with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow set procedures and instructions
Strong teamworking capabilities
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable communicating with customers and colleagues at all levels
Ideally you will hold a personal license, but this is not essential
IAT Level 2 qualification is desirable
Knowledge and/or experience of parasitology screening and/or necropsy procedures are desirable; however full training can be given
Experience in conducting Licence Procedures Under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 as revised in 2012 is an advantage
Passion for animal welfare
Proactive nature, able to deal with changing priorities
Full, clean driving license
