<p>An experienced CNC Lathe machinist is required for a hugely successful motorsport business, based in the South Derbyshire area.</p><p>The company are an established and world renowned leader in the design, development and manufacture of high performance motorsport drive systems for race events. As part of their continuing expansion they have an opportunity to work within their prestigious engineering facility in Derbyshire. Working alongside a team of highly skilled machinists, this position offers a great amount of self reward knowing that you're responsible for machining a one off component, that could achieve a hugely improved overall product. <br /> <br /> This role has the opportunity for a confident setter to step up to programmer level, but we also welcome applications for fully skilled, stand alone engineers who have the confidence to machine jobs from drawings through to finished article.</p><p>Benefits include a competitive basic salary depending on experience, overtime paid at Time &amp; for Weekday and Saturday, Double Time on Sunday, Company pension with up to 7.5% matched contributions, Private Medical Insurance opt in, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.</p><p>Working hours are 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday </p><p><strong>Role and responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Responsible working on a range of 2 &amp; 3 axis Mori Seiki CNC Tu ing Lathes</li><li>Editing and modifying pre written programmes, AND / OR Programming from scratch using FANUC controls</li><li>Setting up tooling, speeds, feeds and material and prove out</li><li>Ru ing a first off for inspection, using measuring equipment and engineering drawings</li><li>Support design and production engineering on the deployment of methodologies</li><li>Producing low volume precision parts, including bespoke / prototype parts when required</li><li>Apply a continuous improvement approach</li><li>Carry out in-process inspection to include CMM operation</li></ul><p><strong>We would welcome applicants who have had previous experience as </strong></p><ul><li>CNC Programmer, CNC Tu er, Lathe Programmer, CNC Lathe Machinist</li><li>Competence and familiarity of with Fanuc controls, using G &amp; M Codes</li><li>Capable of manufacturing highly detailed components.</li><li>Sound understanding of materials and mode cutting methods.</li><li>Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.</li><li>Able to work with minimum supervision.</li><li>High levels of motivation and a flexible approach in terms of working hours.</li><li>Ability to positively interact with design and build departments to overcome engineering challenges.</li></ul><p> This is an genuine opportunity for a professional person who is highly motivated and can adopt a flexible approach to problem solving within a team environment.
