Our global client is looking for a Digital Field Communications Engineer to enhance their team focussing in the EMEA area. You will have excellent international exposure and opportunities to work with some of the best experts in these fields:

Role description : The DFC Engineer will link the business mission, strategy, and processes of the organization with suitable Digital Field Communication systems, considering all aspects of technical design such as performance, scalability and flexibility. They are accountable to transmit Digital Field Communication requirements to the EPC/TSI and other 3rd parties and then lead the Technical and Quality assurance of the engineering and delivery. They will also evolve operational support models for the proposed Digital Field Communication systems and ensure all systems are fit for warranty and transition to Operate.

Key Accountabilities :

• Advocates the Digital Telecommunication strategy set by leadership and by the Network Chapter, and understands how it relates to the Project, and leads adoption

• Works closely with other Engineering and Applications teams to ensure network system capacity and capability are documented and match the current and future needs of the organization

• Delivers high level and detailed architecture documents suitable for executive leadership and vendors that define and drive the network infrastructure

environment and associated technologies and delivers and maintains the overall Mauritania and Senegal Network Architecture Plan (NAP) that supports current and future business directions

• Deliver technical expertise and inputs in all procurement processes to National

Telecommunication Service companies and vendors, to ensure that network capability, performance, scalability and reliability, and the correct interfaces are deployed to meet the evolving engineering systems and operational requirements

• Provides expert technical advice and direction to the EPC and TSI and assures technical design documents delivered by 3rd parties are compliant to standards and provides timely and meaningful feedback within the engineering process reviews

• Validate (u)(W)LAN detailed designs and solutions designed by Engineering,

Procurement Contractor and Sub‐Contractors, and other technical support organizations and ensure adherence to Upstream IT&S infrastructure standards

Essential Criteria & Qualifications:

• Proven ability to drive enterprise architecture best practices broadly and deeply, while able to articulate and convincingly influence decision‐makers on operation support requirements

• Strong exposure in the delivery of highly scalable, economically feasible and

High performing systems and networks, within a functional deliver matrix of

Engineering Procurement Contractor, Telecommunications Systems Integrator, Operational

Critical Telecommunications group, Instruments and Controls, Enterprise IT&S and

Major Project environment

• Exposure to business theory, business process development, governance processes, management and budgeting

• Over 10 years’ experience in a Telecommunications Engineer, Architect or Technical

Assurance role within the Oil and Gas industry, and preferably within the Upstream Gas business

• Expert knowledge of Network Infrastructure Architecture and Operational Critical

Systems such as Fibre and Microwave Transmission layers

• Deep understanding and knowledge of project management, application management, risk management and quality management methodologies, standards and associated processes

• Certification and hand‐on experience in some of the following; Cisco CPT, WAN and

LAN routing protocols (EIGRP, IGRP, BGP, HSRP); Ethernet switch technologies (spanning tree (STP/RSTP); Wireless network technologies: 802.11/ABGN, Cisco

WCS and access points; Network authentication protocols and Network monitoring protocols.
