Senior Product Developer - Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Index Strategies

Your Team

As a Senior Product Developer, you will be part of our ETFs and Index Strategies team, and will report directly to the Head of Product Development.

Your Role

You will play an important role in analysing product opportunities and guiding new products through internal and external approval and governance processes leading to execution and launch.

You will be responsible for:

  • Guide new products through the development process from start to finish including: development of a formal business case; risk analysis; sales engagement and demand estimates; product pricing and financial projections; drafting of offering documents; analysis of ESG criteria and clearance of internal and external (e.g. Fund Board) product approvals.
  • Analyse new product ideas (market demand, product complexity and platform readiness, regulatory eligibility, alignment with strategic goals, financials, etc.) to determine viability, opportunity size and prioritisation
  • Identify and produce the quantitative analyses necessary to ensure new products are rigorously tested against a wide range of potential client considerations. Coordinate with both external (e.g. index providers) and internal (e.g. product managers, portfolio managers, operations) to ensure optimal benchmark and product structure
  • Support the creation of marketing and promotional materials for new product launches, including both preparation of underlying analyses and development of client messaging and product positioning.
  • Monitor market trends, flows, new product developments and maintain an active engagement with external content providers (e.g. S&P, MSCI, etc.) to identify new areas of opportunity and ensure Invesco maintains a leading position in the development and deployment of innovative products
  • Collaborate closely with a wide range of business areas including Product Managers, Portfolio Managers, Legal, Compliance, Content, Operations, Risk and Sales others to ensure that the product development process is streamlined, effective, and incorporates the best ideas from the widest possible range of contributors
  • Support the Head of ETF Product Development and Head of Product and Sales Strategy in the development of annual strategic plans
  • The skills and experience you’ll bring

    You will:

  • Have prior experience working with ETFs in either a product development, trading, risk management or product specialist capacity
  • Experience in product development, preferably in ETFs although mutual fund / structured products with a focus on passive investments also considered
  • Knowledge of the UCITS regulatory framework, especially Irish domiciled funds
  • Strong quantitative / Excel skills and confidence in working with and understanding data, performing quantitative analyses and interpreting results intuitively
  • Knowledge of ESG/sustainable fund concepts and associated data
  • Excellent written English (including drafting legal texts); proficiency in a second European language highly desirable
  • University degree, preferably in a technical field (maths, physics, engineering)
  • Evidence of progress towards (or interest in pursuing) additional qualifications (e.g. CFA) highly valued.
