Central Functions is formed of the teams and people that serve the entire business. These people are integral to the smooth running of the business; ensuring everyone is paid on time, that materials are sourced and arrive promptly, that we meet our legal obligations and that our health, safety, and security is safeguarded.

The Facilities team is responsible for maintaining all THG sites, ensuring that all colleagues and visitors are in a clean, safe environment while on site.

The Facilities Technician will handle the day-to-day maintenance requirements for reactive, quoted and planned tasks. The post holder will be required to carry out compliance inspections and regulatory inspections against the buildings’ infrastructure and on-site assets. The role is multi-skilled, and the post holder will be expected to complete various additional tasks under other disciplines such as, general maintenance, plumbing, building works, fire alarm testing, HVAC and filter cleans.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical,
  • Electrical, and other installed systems;
  • Perform small fix and re-decorative works
  • Maintain, operate all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, building management system, and building repairs;
  • Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
  • Escort specialist contractors and work beside them as required.
  • Respond to emergencies;
  • Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
  • Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required
  • Perform other tasks assigned as requested.
  • Requirements

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working as a Maintenance Technician, carrying out machinery repairs, fault finding and problem solving within similar environment.
  • Ability to plan ahead.
  • Able to prioritize work and manage their own time
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • ‘Can do’ attitude
  • Good level of computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office packages.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualification e.g. NVQ, ONC, OND, Engineering would be an advantage
  • Full UK Driving license
