Finance Analyst (Commercial)

ROLE PURPOSE

You will be joining a dedicated, high performing team, where you will support the finance team in commercial finance . Your ambition to succeed and develop your skills will help achieve this when operating within an area of the business as you liaise and deliver excellent analytical and reporting information to drive the best commercial decisions for the business area you support. Working alongside a small team to provide analytical support and monthly reporting to the area you support.

Upto: Sales c£1 billion, Rebate c£50m, Other Income c£25m Trading Profit c£250m


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Review automated reporting to understand where the opportunities to improve performance are and to challenge the business around action that can be taken to deliver against set targets.

Support the production of value added reporting to arm business partners / finance manager with relevant information for commercial decision making

Prepare daily manual reports and data extracts for rebate areas

Prepare and present the month end management accounts for rebate areas

Play a supporting role with other finance teams for delivery of annual planning cycles (reforecasts, budgets & 5 year plan)

Continually review key reporting to ensure the business remains focused on improving KPI metrics to improve profitability


Essential:

Part Qualified or Qualified by experience

Finance Analyst, Management Accountant Demonstrate experience in relevant finance roles to date

Skills:

Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience of large data slabs and manipulation
Strong communication skills
Proven record of business challenge and support

Knowledge:

Rebates understanding/experience
Business Process and commercial awareness
Month end double entry accounting

Strong communication and proven track record
Ability to accurately follow departmental procedures
An understanding of Business Intelligence solutions
Google experience, in particular Google Sheets
Maintain effective communication with both Finance and Non Finance
