About the opportunity

Under the direction of the Group Controller, the Finance Manager shall be responsible for several businesses within the Pulse entity. The role is based in London, with home working opportunities and some local travel requirements.

The role has a significant opportunity to take the lead of accounting activities within a key company in the group. Furthermore, working with the Group Controller, you will enhance and innovate the current processes, controls and operations within the Acacium Group Finance function, to establish an area of excellence, best practice and capacity for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing weekly reporting of key statistics and metrics around cash, revenue, gross margin, hours, candidates with the ability to account for multiple different types of selling mechanisms across a multitude of revenue streams.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate cash flow within the business for daily and weekly reporting. This includes taking ownership of invoice financing to ensure the company maintains a strong cash position.
  • Acacium Group lives by its core values of putting people first, always by your side and driven by excellence. The finance manager is responsible for a team of two to ensure the Acacium Group environment is developed through 1-2-1s, workshops etc to ensure we continue to live by our values.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of the financials over to the central function whilst maintaining an element of analysis that is beyond just numbers and enables insight to improve business performance.
  • Financial and Operational management of key risk areas. The finance manager is responsible for overseeing this to ensure a firm grasp on the numbers not only from a P&L perspective, also from a balance sheet compliance perspective. The financial controller shall be the point of contact for internal department heads and the finance business partners and shall have a clear view of any risks or opportunities relating to the balance sheet.
  • Implement new process and procedures alongside the Group Controller. Generate ideas and innovative solutions for new methods of working with the emphasis on integrity, accountability, excellence, and teamwork.
  • Developing processes and improvements within an automated environment as part of best practice.
  • Annual tasks include preparation and verification of PSA, VAT preparation and leading the annual audit for allocated companies.
  • Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant, recognised with a UK accounting body. 2 years + PQE
  • Strong academic background
  • Recruitment/Staffing or Services business experience or experience in Healthcare, Social care, or Life Science industries desirable
  • Strong Excel capabilities to manage large data sets and reconciliations swiftly and accurately
  • Accounting Systems experience (Great Plains / Microsoft Dynamics desirable)
  • Experience of business process improvement to attain a best practice environment
  • In-depth knowledge of finance, management, and the ability to adapt within a changing environment.
