Sheridan Maine are partnering with an established, but still evolving, SME business based in the Poole area to recruit the key position of Financial Controller. The role will be broad, working closely with operations and will work report directly to the Managing Director. Ideally the client is seeking someone who is available immediately or on a shorter notice period.
The main responsibilities will include the production of timely financial reporting and management information to the Managing Director and the parent company owners who are based in the US. You will own the preparation of the budgets and provide regular reviews of company performance against targets for the UK and a European entity. Other key tasks will include manage company insurances, liaising with professional advisors, dealing with all statutory enquiries and ensuring financial governance and controls are robust.
The ideal candidate will be need to be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with SME experience gained at Finance Manager/Controller level. Exposure to detailed reporting packs as found in a Private Equity or Plc driven background would be highly beneficial.
The role will be extremely varied so will need someone who is prepared to delve into the detail and be involved in some of the accounts production as well as the review/reporting elements. Strong IT skills are a must and the ability to manipulate data using tools like Power BI would be highly beneficial.
