Main Purpose

Man GLG is an active manager of credit funds. Man GLG focusses on delivering strong investment performance with attractive risk-adjusted returns for its clients, supported by rigorous credit analysis. 

The Credit Analyst will work closely with GLG’s Credit PM and support the management of the portfolio day to day. A core focus of the role will be carrying out full financial analysis, constructing detailed cash flow models and helping monitor investment portfolios of Investment Grade and performing Sub-investment grade corporate credit securities in both the primary and secondary market. Responsibilities include generating and presenting trade ideas for the different credit funds, responding to newsflow and analysing opportunities. 

The Credit Analyst will be an active member of the investment team, working alongside senior professionals on the trading floor with full opportunity to contribute throughout the investment cycle. 


  • Carry out detailed financial analysis of corporate credit securities including in-depth assessment of business models and investment risks 

  • Build complete financials models covering P&L, balance sheet and cash flow 

  • Assisting the credit portfolio manager in managing long only and long-short strategies 

  • Take part in meetings with corporate borrowers (or potential borrowers), investment banks (including sell-side research analysts) and other market stakeholders

  • Assist in monitoring existing investment portfolios, including reviewing company reporting and benchmarking relative value opportunities

  • Key Skills & Experience 

  • Degree level education in a numerate or financial discipline 
  • Significant experience in financial markets, working for either an established investment bank or asset manager with a focus on credit analysis 

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills

  • Cross-jurisdictional and sector experience

  • Good knowledge of bond documentation including public and private instruments 

  • Communication, organisation and presentation skills together with the ability to multitask and deal confidently with senior stakeholders across the firm

  • Be a “self-starter”, able to take initiative in contributing to the firm whilst at the same time operating harmoniously and constructively within the team
