CK Group are recruiting for a Head of Patient Support Programs to join a leading global pharmaceutical company on a contract basis for 12 months as a maternity cover. The role has been determined as inside IR35 so you can join as either an agency PAYE contractor or via umbrella company.
Company: Our client is a world leading pharmaceutical company that focuses on neurology and immunology. Their ambition is to transform the lives of people living with severe diseases.
Location: The company are based in Slough, but it is anticipated that the roles can be worked remotely, with visits to the office approximately twice a month (when travel permitted again). There is also option for EU based candidates to work via the Belgian office (Brussels).
Salary: The roles will pay up to £72 per hour (Umbrella) or £53 per hour (PAYE).
Head of Patient Support Programs: We are looking for an interim Head of PSP to manage ongoing country operations, deliver industry leading Patient programs,and ensure/manage compliance for all programs
MSc or higher preferably in life sciences or public health
At least 10 years’ experience in patient services or related roles associated with compliance, pharmacovigilance, medical within pharmaceutical or related industries
Relevant experience in management of patient advocacy, patient services, or patient support programs (PSPs)
In-depth understanding of homecare nursing programs, patient adherence programs, specifically understanding the importance of, and barriers to adherence among patients and healthcare professionals, as well as public health issues and the pharmaceutical product reimbursement environment
Comprehensive understanding of PSP operations – from idea generation to implementation, auditing and close/termination
In-depth knowledge of safety reporting/pharmacovigilance obligations of PSPs, as well as other legal, ethical and regulatory aspects
Understanding of patient experience and needs in different therapeutic areas and the experience to balance the strategic and tactical/delivery aspects of the role
Ability to identify value for patients from PSPs, as well as potential additional elements
Substantial vendor relationship management experience, from sourcing to contracting and auditing
Responsibilities:Ensures delivery of industry leading PSPs, creating awareness of commitment to patient centricity through constant improvement and program excellence
Drives the development of global solutions for PSPs (e.g., process innovation, digitalization SOP authoring) and creates standard tools and templates where needed
Collaborates with, and provides support to global and affiliate teams to ensure alignment of the overall PSP strategy – drives PSP best practice globally through adoption of relevant tools and processes
Contributes to all aspects of PSP operations including organisation, incorporation of pharmacovigilance processes, budgets, communications, implementation and engagement.
Leads in health authority inspections and audits where there is a request for PSP information and addresses associated corrective and preventative actions.
Supports customer-facing, marketing and other teams as required on training and understanding PSPs, as well as compliance with Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP), internal SOPs and other relevant regulations
Ensures compliance with all local PSP reporting structures globally and acts as a liaison with Pharmacovigilance/Global safety for reporting
