Protocol are working with a top performing FE College based in the Gloucestershire. It is a very well-established College graded as “Good” with outstanding elements by Ofsted. The College’s students are at the heart of what they do, and their priority is to prepare all their learners for the future. The excellent staff and facilities ensure that they provide a well-rounded learning experience to students to help them reach their full potential. Faculty staff work closely and effectively in subject and department teams.

Our client currently has an exciting opportunity to join them on a permanent basis, as the new Head of Chemistry. This role encompasses responsibility for the subject and Teaching.

Role responsibilities

The role will be mainly teaching Chemistry ‘A’ Level. The Chemistry team has been extremely successful in recent years, and students taking ‘A’ Level Chemistry achieve some of the best value added results across the college.

In addition to teaching Chemistry you will be a key contributor to the new T-Level Health and Science: Science pathway. There may also be the opportunity to teach some modules of HE provision with the partner University.

As Head of Chemistry, you would lead the work of a small team of chemistry teachers and supervise the chemistry technician. This role would be a good first step up for an ambitious teacher or a sideways move for a school Head of Chemistry who wishes to broaden their experience before seeking a management post.

As a Course Team Leader, you have considerable autonomy in terms of pedagogy so it is an opportunity to be creative too.
