Working Hours/ Pattern: 40 per week, 7am to 3.30pm (approx.), requirement to work bank hols and o/t opportunities.
Salary: £19,638.47 per annum
Serco’s Environmental Services provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in Basingstoke. With a professional, dedicated and friendly team of Refuse and Recycling staff, we ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve. And right now, we have an opportunity for like-minded Loaders to join our team of essential workers and help us make a positive difference to the environment we all live in.
First and foremost, you will be the public face of Serco’s Environmental Services team in the community. As a refuse loader you will set off on your pre-planned route, collecting waste and recycling from residential homes and commercial properties. We are on the front line when it comes to making sure our community remains a beautiful, safe and clean place to live and work, a responsibility we take great pride in.

What do I need to do the role?
To be considered for a position within our team, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as be self-motivated with the willingness to undertake further training when required and work well within a team.
A clean driving license is desirable but not essential.
We are looking to hear from candidates who are fine with the early starts and have the willingness to go the extra mile when required. You will be expected to be someone who can demonstrate strong customer service skills and is happy in dealing with members of the public.
Previous experience of working with refuse collection is not essential as we will provide any additional training you may need.
