Job Duties:The post holder will:
Be expected to work with professional colleagues in the care of patients referred to him/her and to keep up-to-date with innovative change and development within the specialty, profession and the Health Service.
Be expected to work with local managers in providing a high quality efficient service to patients and to assume leadership where appropriate in a team-working environment within the management framework of the Paediatric Directorate and in line with the policy of the Trust.
Be expected to undertake teaching of medical undergraduates and postgraduates as well as staff in related disciplines, and to co-operate with colleagues in developing local educational programmes.
Qualifications / Experience:Full GMC registration, or eligible for Registration, plus a Licence to Practise (must have both at time of appointment)
MRCPCH or equivalent
Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Paediatric Cardiology plus 2 year's experience in General Paediatrics
Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Paediatrics plus at least 1 year as a spin trainee in Paediatric Cardiology
APLS accreditation at time of appointment.
Level 3 child protection accreditation at time of appointment
Experience in managing children following cardiac surgery
