We are currently seeking an ambitious and energetic Marketing & Business Development Manager to support the continued growth in our Kent Offices.

Reporting directly to the Marketing Partner you will work with our partners and managers to create and apply an effective and sustainable business development strategy along with managing the general marketing for the Kent offices. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth by forging strong relationships with and winning new clients for the firm.

Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of marketing and business development activity for Audit, Accounts & Business Advisory, Tax and Corporate Finance. The Marketing and Business Development Manager will work closely with the service line lead partners ensure the service lines market their products and services to the external marketplaces effectively. This includes managing all external communications, progressing targeting programmes for new work, and ensuring the divisions meet their growth targets.

Your responsibilities will be to

  • Develop a successful business development plan focused both on the winning of profitable and sustainable new business.
  • Draw together intelligence from publicly available information (websites, Market IQ, Companies House etc.) of prospective clients to identify opportunities for Crowe.
  • Support the partners in the creation and maintenance of sales pipelines using appropriate tools (Interaction) and targeting meetings with partners and managers.
  • Manage proposal tenders.
  • Proactively arrange business development meetings with prospective clients.
  • Undertake follow-up calls to networking and marketing activity to generate appropriate meetings with prospective clients.
  • Report directly to the Marketing Partner, providing trustworthy feedback and reporting accurate progress against the agreed plan and budget.
  • Proactively develop a personal network of intermediary and business introducer contacts in the local area.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing clients of the firm.
  • Marketing specific:

  • Develop and communicate the office’s services proposition externally, managing the production of all collateral to ensure it is needed, accessible, relevant. on brand and in support of the firm’s strategy, and develop and manage online/digital campaigns to ensure clear communication to appropriate audiences.
  • Produce high quality, issues driven, service line specific content to drive marketplace profile, BD conversations and generate opportunities. Communicate this content to the regions and sectors to ensure effective use nationally.
  • Manage and drive an effective intermediaries programme to maximise work referrals and promote marketplace position.
  • Adopt the role of brand champion, ensuring all communications are brand compliant and in support of the firm’s communications strategy, including driving the active use of social media.
  • Liaise and follow up with the national PR team to ensure adequate, timely and appropriate regional PR commentary and coverage for service line specific market place issues and campaign content.
  • Drive effective internal communications for the service lines by using central online channels and attending national and regional BD meetings representing the Kent business.

  • Have proven work experience as a marketing & business development manager.
  • Have experience in working for a professional services organisation.
  • Be knowledgeable of the business market in South East England (particularly in Kent and Sussex).
  • Be prepared to challenge the way we do things and suggest viable alternative options.
  • Be comfortable working with partners and ensuring that plans are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software (training on our specific software, Interaction, will be given).
  • Have excellent communication and negotiation skills and the confidence to contact and follow up prospects both by phone and email.
  • Have the ability to build rapport with prospects, clients, staff and partners.
  • Understand the importance of long term, sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Possess excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Will be confident in driving forward the Kent marketing and business Development plan.

    The role requires:

  • A professional with strong marketing and business development experience at a managerial level, particularly in targeting new business, proposal project management and marketing communications.
  • Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of the business development process, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • A professional, credible and confident communicator, with strong influencing skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the firm.
  • Solid and relevant commercial understanding and experience.
  • Experience of managing large projects and multiple relationships.
  • A proactive and self-motivated individual.
  • Management of own workload with minimal supervision.
  • An active team player.
  • A marketing or business degree is preferable.
