We are looking for a Principal Manger to work within Community Adult Social Care Services. In Salford we are at an exciting and innovative point of developing and embedding community led support across our integrated services, maximising on strengths-based practice and committing to enabling and maximising choice and control with people.

These are senior management posts with both operational and strategic responsibilities. The role holder will be passionate about leading in a multi-disciplinary way, providing care and support to people closer to home, supporting people to live more fulfilled lives and improving outcomes for people. The role holder will also demonstrate strong ethical, social work values and embrace a culture of coproduction, learning and continuous development and improvement. In additional to this, this role demands a sound understanding of Health and Adult Social Care legislation and the national and local policy that underpins Health and Social care in Salford.

Skills/Responsibilities:

To apply for this post, you will have:

  • Registered as a Social Worker with the Health Care Professional Council-soon to be Social work England or Registered as a nurse.
  • Experience of strategic management within statutory services. Including policy/strategy development and implementation.
  • substantial post qualifying experience with at least 3 years managing statutory services.
  • Roles/Responsibilities:

  • To Provide Leadership and Support for the delivery and Development of adult social care. To deputise for the Heads of Service/AHP leads, managing risks to the service and organisation and supporting effective decision making.
  • To work in partnership with other professionals to ensure the delivery of a high quality, efficient adult social care service to the people of Salford.
  • To Identify, promote and develop new methods of joint working between Health Social Care and other stake holds to develop a whole system strengths-based approach to the wellbeing of vulnerable adults.
  • To manage the performance management framework for service including governance arrangement that encourage continuous development.
  • Manage the adult social care budget for your area of responsibility.
  • The post holder will be required to undertake the role Principal Manager in any of the service areas across Adult Social Care, dependent on the skills, knowledge, and competency requirements of that role.
