Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our office in Stanstead Abbotts and contribute to the world of electronic payments. PXP Financial team has a broad experience in shaping and leading innovation in the payment space. The world of payments is dynamic and so are we. Today we have 200 employees from 25 nationalities working across 6 office locations: UK, Austria, Bulgaria, India, the Netherlands and the US.In this role, you will be responsible for the in-store (customer present area) of PXP Financials’ product and service offering. You will work together with external customers and internal stakeholders, build and analyze proposed business cases, identify minimal viable product (MVP), be responsible for the delivery of the product together with our development teams and measure the results as a basis for further investments. Your area of responsibility:
  • Work closely with external and internal stakeholders: commercial, operation, development teams;
  • Gather requirements and define the product roadmap with product extensions/changes;
  • Analyse business cases and see return on investments (ROI);
  • Investigate and define the Minimal Viable Product required for validating the initial hypothesis and the pre-defined measures;
  • Own the product extension from design until go-live including all supporting documentation (API’s, guides, handovers, training material for various audiences);
  • Manage product and sprint backlogs and propose prioritization;
  • Organize and conduct regular backlog refinement meetings with the development team;
  • Perform acceptance testing and make a handover to relevant stakeholders;
  • Support the commercial team with pre-sales activities, train them about product offerings and provide analysis about competitors’ product offering & costs;
  • Maintain industry directives to make sure our solutions remain compliant.
  • Your profile:
  • 5+ years’ Product Development experience in a Financial Services / Gateway / Acquiring or Issuing organisation;
  • Good understanding of the payments industry (Card Present / Ecommerce / Alternative Payment methods), specifically understanding of payment flows within card present sectors, such as Retail, Food & Beverage, Hospitality & Cruise;
  • Experience of implementing Lean / Agile product development approach (especially Build-Measure-Learn, Minimal Viable Product);
  • Proactive and achievement-driven with a passion for value creation and for pursuit of excellence with a hands-on mentality;
  • Excellent organisational and decision-making skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate well with colleagues, customers, and the company’s Executive Board;
  • Ability to work in and adjust to a rapidly changing and developing environment;
  • Fluent English language (written and spoken);
  • Technical knowledge about APIs (JSON, XML, GraphQL), system integrations, Payment Devices (Verifone, Ingenico, PAX), workflow/rules technology is an advantage;
  • Experience in using applications / tools such as Office 365, Visio, Project, DevOps/Jira, Splunk, Power BI, SQL, Postman/SoapUI would be advantageous.
