SEN Teaching Assistant – Poole
The Dorset team at Prospero Teaching are recruiting an experienced SEN teaching assistant to predominantly work on a 1:1 basis at a small primary school situated in Poole. The school rated “Good” at its last Ofsted inspection are looking for SEN teaching assistant who can join the tight-knit community & who are able to enhance the learning journey of their pupils and will always be keen to speak with those individuals who come with new ideas & drive to help each child reach their potential.
You will be working closely with some outstanding & experienced practitioners including the SENCO who will guide and shape your experience in their school. You will be given time to fit into the school & given all of the relevant support, ensuring that best practice is adhered to.
The position can be worked on either a full-time or part-time basis, as the school is wanting to ensure they get the right candidate for this position. The position is due to start in January, however, the school is keen to meetings prior to the start date.
The ideal candidate should have experience in working within SEN settings, such as dealing with children with autism & complex needs. Working with the classroom environment when required & helping keep the children on task. The children will be supervised throughout the day.
You will be required to have an enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service. If not you will be required to pay for a new DBS before being introduced to schools (£45.80).

Experience, training and qualification:
** Ability to think quickly & without supervision
** Confident when working with small groups or 1 to 1
** Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
** Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation.
** Be caring, patient and have good communication skills.
** Calming mannerisms in challenging situations.
** The ability to grow individual personal development.
** Willing to complete Safeguarding online training.
** Complete a face-to-face registration, currently being done remotely on Zoom.
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
**Hold right to work in the UK
** Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
** Provide two professional child related references
