A SEND school based in Barnet is looking for an experienced and fully qualified SEN Teacher to join their school from September 2021 on a full-time permanent basis.The school is a mixed Special school for students aged between 11-19 years with various SEN Needs. The successful SEND teacher will be a dedicated and creative teacher with demonstrable SEND knowledge. You will be required to teach a small class of 8 students with various SEN Needs including Autism, Speech and Language, Profound and Multiple difficulties. Due to the students’ needs, you will need to adapt your lessons as they will be working at a much lower level than their age group. During the day you will have additional support from 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant depending on what students are attending. The ideal SEN Teacher for this role must have had previous experience in a similar setting and be a compassionate and creative individual. Primary school teachers with a passion for SEND are welcome to apply. You should have an innovative and flexible approach to teaching which promotes for all learners. The school is purpose-built with excellent facilities and modern resources and was rated ‘good’ upon its last OFSTED report. The classes are purpose-built for 8-10 students and encourage independence, personal development and learning through the use of PECS. It is easily accessible via public transport and also has private parking amenities. This role is to start in September 2021 and will be a full-time role that continues for the rest of the academic year. There is potential for this role to become permanent.
