Job Description

Job Title : Senior Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Hours : 37.5 hours per week

Job Location : Oldbury

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience, plus you’ll benefit from a 10% performance bonus, a company car, private health cover, a contributory pension scheme and life cover.

As a Senior Engineer you’ll be responsible for supporting the Operations/Technical Manager with work execution under the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (UKCA) approved body.

Key Accountabilities;

  • Providing Technical and Engineering support covering PSSR and LOLER
  • To ensure effective and timely work execution is in line with customer’s requirements, in particular to manage the work execution under the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (UKCA) approved body.
  • Support the Operations / Technical Manager to ensure that revenue and profitability targets are met, through effective service delivery and file management.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with industry quality standards including ISO 17020 and other accreditation standards as required.
  • To deputise for the Operations / Technical Manager as required
  • To work closely with the Operations / Technical manager to explore and maximise business opportunities, potentially in new business areas, possibly where neither has any experience.
  • Qualifications

    To be successful in this role, you’ll need a sound knowledge of Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations as applicable in the industrial marketplace.

    In addition to the above you’ll also need to demonstrate the following;

  • Category 1 Engineer as defined in SAFed SS01
  • Pertinent qualification and training in PSSR / LOLER
  • Must hold a valid driving licence.
  • Qualified Engineer or Chartered (or working to towards Chartered status)
  • Commercial experience to ensure work is procured and executed in accordance within margins acceptable to the company.
  • Lifting Regulations (LOLER)
  • Pressure Systems Safey Regulations (PSSR)
  • Experience of engineering and technical compliance for in-service Industrial assets e.g. manufacturing, process, utilities.
  • Industry background suitable to maximise sales benefits from the client base
