As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be involved in all aspects of software development, contributing to mid-to-large sized reliability projects. Projects range from building services to verify continuous resiliency to reliability checks with auto-remediation features for applications and from progressive delivery implementation to Service Level Objective frameworks across Expedia Group. Your primary focus is on improving the reliability of the services and systems of the world's largest online travel platform at scale.

As an Engineer in our team, you will:

  • Design, develop and build product features, writing automated unit, integration and acceptance tests as appropriate
  • Continuously assess and improve overall code quality, maintainability and readability
  • Support our developer community who adopt our products and solutions
  • Provide guidance and feedback to engineering teams instilling resiliency and reliability best practices
  • Partner closely with other Expedia Groups Site Reliability Engineers to understand current engineering gaps and opportunities to proactively improve the reliability
  • Work as part of a geographically distributed multi-functional team using agile methodologies
  • Who you are:

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science or a related major and/or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3+ years’ software development experience working in a team environment
  • Experience with 1 or more programming languages such as Java, Python or Go. If you are not familiar with one of them but willing to learn this is not a problem!
  • Experience with Cloud platforms and services (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration platforms (Docker and Kubernetes preferred)
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development practices
  • Experience with application monitoring tools
  • Ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely
