If so, Empowering Learning have an excellent opportunity for a talented and self-motivated Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join one of our secondary schools in the Luton area. The school are in the fortunate position where they can support an NQT or offer experienced teachers the opportunity to undertake additional responsibilities, including the option of a Head of Department position. If you are an NQT or in the early stages of your career, you will receive excellent support. If you are an experienced Spanish and French teacher or leader, then the school can offer you a significant TLR to lead the department. As such, applications are welcome from Spanish and French teachers at any stage in their career.

Ultimately, the school are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner that is able to bring ideas, energy, enthusiasm and a commitment to the classroom and possibly the leadership of the school's MFL department. You must be able to teach KS3 and KS4 Spanish and French , with the ability to offer either subject at KS5 highly desirable.

Job Purpose:

  • Motivate, encourage and enthuse pupils in relation to Modern Foreign Language
  • To ensure the highest quality curriculum provision and effective teaching, which promotes learning
  • To carry out professional duties of a qualified teacher in accordance with current DfE Teachers Pay & Conditions Document
  • Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Lesson planning and effective delivery to meet the needs of all learners
  • Assessment and recording of achievement
  • Monitoring of student progress and reporting to parents and other colleagues as appropriate.
  • Managing the classroom and resources effectively in order to create a safe, stimulating and positive learning environment for all students
  • To maintain positive discipline and promote the well-being and progress of students, providing guidance and advice
  • Monitoring patterns of attendance and punctuality
  • To engage fully with professional development activities
  • Developing positive relationships with colleagues, parents and students, maintaining effective lines of communication
