Ideally 6 months experience needed, but free training will be provided.

Opus, on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council, is looking to recruit temporary team leaders for the reablement team. Working through Opus, you will offer support as part of the Management Team, to promote the rights and responsibilities of people with disabilities through the provision and development of services.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, enthusiastic and kind, and will always enjoy going the extra mile to accommodate the needs of every individual we support.

North Northamptonshire includes Desborough, Corby, Oundle, Thrapston and others to the north of Northampton.

  • To be responsible for the day to day provision of a safe and comfortable environment from which the service can operate for the customers, as specified, to meet the requirements of NNC Care Services to provide services for adults with learning disabilities.
  • To be responsible for such administrative and financial tasks as designated by the Team Manager in accordance with procedures.
  • To oversee the assessment and preparation of individual team plans for the area of To ensure the delivery of services to meet these plans in order to provide each customer with an individually determined package of care / support.
  • To manage the ongoing review and updating process of individual care plans and records to ensure that services provided accurately reflect the customers needs at all times.
  • To manage a team of staff and take responsibility for their induction training, continuous development and performance to ensure effective and efficient use of this resource in accordance with the policy and objectives for this service.
  • To actively promote a customer voice in the provision of the service, including the encouragement of self and citizen advocacy.

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Social Care, or have the ability and willingness to undertake training to this level. A natural desire to help improve people’s lives
  • Relevant management qualification or a firm understanding of the supervision / management skills required to supervise a team of staff effectively.
  • To be able to supervise staff effectively, and to carry out regular supervisions with staff.
  • To be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Good Verbal, written, numeracy and computer skills. Respect for others, a friendly personality and a real passion for helping people.
  • Knowledge of current disability legislation and current thinking.
