The Team Member Kickstart will be spending their 6 month programme split across different departments within the hotel.
Working a 3 month block in Housekeeping and a 3 month block in Food & Beverage. By splitting their role in this way the Kickstarter will be able to gain experience in 2 very different parts of the business.
Housekeeping – working as part of the housekeeping team the Kickstarter will be responsible for cleaning bedrooms and public areas within the hotel. They will be trained in the use of cleaning chemicals (where required) and any other required equipment. Housekeeping is a physical role moving dirty linen from one area of the hotel to another, making beds, vacuuming etc. Housekeepers are required to clean bedrooms within set time limits in order for the hotel to be ready for the next guest checking in.
Housekeepers work predominantly set shifts starting work at either 8 or 9am. The hotel is open 365 days a year. The Kickstart will work 25 hours over 4 days.
Food & Beverage – working as part of the Restaurant and Bar teams there are a vatiety of roles within this department, the Kickstart will start off as a Runner – bussing tables, taking food from the kitchen to the guests from here they will progress to a Commis Waiter assisting the Chef de Rangs in serving guests, taking drinks orders and delivering bills. Depending on the individual the Kickstarter will have the opportunity to progress into a Chef de Rang position.
Food & Beverage offers greater flexibility in the hours worked but the Kickstarter can expect to work a mix of weekday and weekend shifts with some evening and late night work.
