What will you do?

  • Setting and maintaining high Quality and Safety standards in the outbound area
  • Supervising and coaching the team to ensure all agreed processes in the department are followed correctly
  • Arranging department resources and plan on daily basis to ensure all planned activities are complete:
  • All shipments are dispatched as planned
  • All orders in Home Sales are picked/packed every day
  • Put away, picking and other warehouse functions are covered with minimum or no downtime
  • Export packing plan is followed and achieved with 90% accuracy
  • Other agreed tasks
  • Arranging department resources on daily basis to minimize downtime and non-value added activities
  • Supporting customer services and arranging ad-hoc orders to be packed as and when required
  • Running Tier I meetings
  • Recording and sharing agreed department metrics
  • Continuously improving first time accuracy and reviewing processes and standards to avoid repeated errors and / or snags
  • Assisting area manager in keeping training records up to date and running training sessions as required
  • Running and helping to arrange improvement projects in the department
  • Cooperating in timely and efficient manner with other departments and be first point of contact for any questions related to outbound logistics
  • Participating in other agreed meetings, activities and tasks
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with legislation and company procedures
  • Drive and maintain departmental 5S levels to required standards
  • Identify and implement new processes as required.
  • Meeting site targets for stock accuracy with raw materials and packaging.
  • Ensure that safety audits and actions are completed in all areas and any identified and actions are carried out to company standards and within required timelines.
  • Ensure that the reporting of any incidents, accidents or near misses is carried out in a timely manner which meets the company requirements. Also, where appropriate, root cause analysis carried out to establish the appropriate corrective actions.
  • Development and implementation of appropriate training plans to ensure competence of all staff. To support flexibility of resource within the site.
  • Ensure quality is given a high level of focus throughout all of the departments and emphasis given to driving quality improvements.
  • Daily management of the Outbound Logistics Team
  • Ensure communications and transfers between the Value Streams are appropriate and support the business requirements.
  • Use visual management as a means of monitoring the value stream and communicating progress to all personnel within the Value Stream. Encourage input to the success of the business at all levels.
  • Embrace and participate in Practical Process Improvements (PPI) initiatives to identify reduction of waste in current processes and cost savings to the business.
  • Lead daily departmental production meeting at start of shift if required.
  • Demonstrable track record of leading and motivating a team

    Flexibility as this role is on a shift pattern rotating between earlies and lates.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and brevity and expresses confidence.

  • Fork lift license
  • Willingness to develop and progress self and team
  • Route cause analysis experience including solutions
  • IoSCM or other formal qualification in warehousing/inventory/supply chain
  • Experience/Skills and Abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to achieve and encourage others to achieve.
  • Driven to complete all allocated projects and tasks within set timelines.
  • Able to communicate clearly at all levels on both written and verbal basis. This may include external suppliers and customers.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and demeanor and act a role model leader at all times.
  • Work effectively with others within own team and colleagues from other areas of the business.
  • Ability to ask the necessary questions and compile answers and information in order to solve problems.
  • You are required to have a professional approach when dealing with staff, customers and key stakeholders.
  • Confident use of computers in daily work. (Intermediate level at a minimum)
