Purpose of Function

Our inbound and outbound Warehouse supports Logistics, Manufacturing and Distribution to achieve customer satisfaction both internally and externally.

The Warehouse Supervisor plays a vital part in this process and takes overall responsibility for ensuring that all aspects of inbound and outbound warehousing are managed effectively and efficiently in order to drive the Supply Chain agenda in accordance with Company policies, procedures and the Regional and Global Operations strategy.

Tasks and Responsibilities

All employees have a responsibility to comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out their duties.

Ensure agreed Service Levels, Inventory and Budget targets are met by Coordinating efficient operations of all areas of the Warehouse

Work closely with Warehouse Management and Order Management to ensure target achievement

Through optimising processes within Inbound, Warehousing and Outbound, improve quality, efficiency, speed and flexibility

Tasks

Plan and coordinate the team and tasks through efficient resource management

Monitor all aspects of Warehousing KPI‘s and proactively identify any issues in a timely manner in order to allow corrective actions to be put in place.

Consider management information such as statistics on capacity, delays, turnover results and stock level reports and make informed decisions based on this information in order to maximise effectiveness and efficiency.

Communicate and implement changes as directed.

Inbound, Warehousing & Pick and Pack

Recruit, manage, motivate and train all warehouse and distribution employees.

Create a cross functional, agile department working closely and interactively with distribution and logistics operations

Provide leadership by setting clear expectations, demonstrating high standards of work, following company practices and demonstrating safety conscious behaviour.

Manage stock locations and stock inaccuracies, via daily audits, investigating any issues and

reporting finds to the Warehouse Management.

Management of all inbound stock on a Just in Time (JIT) basis - liaise with production and logistics to ensure all stock is in the right place at the right time to fulfil sales demand.

Inventory Management, stock accuracy control, daily stock takes, yearly audits

Management of the pick and pack process to ensure achievement of KPI’s, Ensuring pick and pack is completed accurately and on time - all products are available at the correct cut off times relating to each customer and country.

Control of incorrect customer picking.

Health & Safety Compliance

Ensuring a culture of H&S exists throughout warehousing and distribution

Ensuring Health and Safety Procedures are in place

Organise personnel in the handling and storage of goods to ensure optimum use of the warehouse facilities, in accordance with H&S and legal requirements.

The above list is typical of the duties the post holder will be expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar nature and level may be required from time to time

Additional Roles

Act as deputy for Warehouse Management when required, including completion of reporting of inbound and outbound warehouse performance.

Carry out special tasks when required (e.g. IT-projects, Supply Chain Business Best Practice optimisation projects).

Preferably degree educated in a technical discipline ideally 2:1 honours or above and / or equivalent related experience

IT literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office formulas / report writing

SAP R/3 knowledge preferred

English language

Management & leadership courses

A proven track record in related field (such as warehousing, distribution, logistics)

Demonstrable experience in a warehouse and / or shipping environment of a manufacturing organisation.

Exposure to Continuous Improvement programs (Process Excellence, 6-Sigma, Kaïzen, TQM, 5S, etc.) and proven experience of system and processes implementation (ideally SAP)

Experience of planning and materials control

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence others

Passion and Drive to make a difference whilst exceeding internal & external customer expectations.

People Management skills

Capacity for analytical thought

Possess the ability to work in international / multi-cultural environment.

Full and current driving license
