NutriCalc® nutrition calculation software is regarded as the industry standard software to help food businesses develop and cost recipes, produce compliant food labels, formulate and reformulate food products and declare ingredients and allergens.

We are a small, family-owned company with over 30 years’ expertise in food science and software development and we are looking for a skilled full stack developer to join our close-knit team full time.

Based in Barnstaple, Devon, we are looking for someone who likes to work collaboratively within a team but is also happy to problem solve and set their own deadlines and priorities.

In turn, we offer a supportive working environment with potential to progress with the business and grow the development team. The role is office based so fully remote working is not possible, but a hybrid or flexible arrangement may be considered for the right person following a successful probationary period.

Day to day duties:

  • Lead and work closely with our small technical team on existing, and new projects, using: .Net Core, C#, JavaScript, Agile, HTML. CSS, DevOps and SQL
  • Adding new, and maintaining features to our high performance, responsive software
  • Ensure new features are expertly designed, tested, de-bugged, verified and ready for integration
  • Involvement with the entire product lifecycle from suggestions to deployment
  • Write new and update existing software tests
  • Write documentation as appropriate

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience of the above languages
  • Minimum three years professional experience
  • Experience of API design would be beneficial
  • Experience with the use of Azure is essential
  • You will need to have an excellent eye for detail
  • Someone who uses a range of learning resources to develop new skills, such as online, books, or trial and error
  • Creative problem-solving ability
  • You'll also need to be reliable and have a can-do approach to your workload. Asking questions is often key to developing new skills quickly, but you will also be required to research and learn things by yourself
  • A-Level mathematics or equivalent professional experience / degree
