About the role
We're currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to work on a number of exciting new projects at our Burscough Packaging site, operating within a cross-functional Engineering Project Team and working closely with assigned Project Managers and site resources.
As the successful candidate you will work closely with our DS Smith Packaging sites to interpret and deliver specific project requirements, delivering projects within timescales and budgeted costs. Using your expertise you will have the ability to identify possible technical challenges and provide solutions through to implementation. In doing so, you will ensure at all times relevant health and safety requirements are managed, complying with DS Smith’s Health and Safety governance guidlines.
As part of the wider Engineering Project team you will be required to organise and prioritise workload in order to deliver to project plan schedules, contributing and providing technical input to regular internal project meetings. Excellent stakeholder management skills are a neccessaty for this role as you will be responsible for managing multiple internal and external stakeholders. You will manage and meet with third party contractors and suppliers to ensure they are engaged and understand their agreed scope of supply and delivery. In conjuction, you will provide regular progress updates and reports to the DS Smith Project Control Management protocols.
Please note: This role is a 12 month fixed-term contract, with the potential to extend beyond that initial period.
- Experienced within an Engineering Project Engineer or similar role
- Holder of a recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Competency in MS Office
