About the Role

Our client is a fast growing, fully independent bank who offer an alternative ethos centred around positive social impact. Due to continued growth they have a brand-new role for a Risk Analyst with experience of working in a bank or financial services business specialist lender.

Reporting directly to the Bank’s Chief Risk Officer you will become an important member of the risk team with responsibility for further developing the Bank’s risk capabilities.

As a small Bank this will suit a ‘hands on” risk analyst who is resourceful, used to working as part of a small team and supporting colleagues as the Bank grows. The successful candidate will have the confidence to fulfil a 2nd line of defence oversight function covering all areas of the Bank.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Risk Analyst to join a unique, ethical Challenger Bank with a strong social impact focus & help them reach their growth targets. Our client seeks a capable individual with experience of working in a bank or financial services business specialist lender and is interested in building out a risk management framework. The role will also involve covering for other analysts within the second line from time to time.

Responsibilities of the Risk Analyst – Commercial Banking - London role:

Produce Monthly Risk Reports for selected core risks

· Covering limits, KRI, Risk Appetite,

Develop Risk Control Self Assessments

Document Management

• Risk Appetite Statement
• Risk Taxonomy
• Risk Register

Secretary of Executive Risk & Compliance Committee

• Collating all papers for Committee
• Producing main core risk reports

Operational Risk

· Management and embedding of Operational Risk and Operating Incident Reports

Cover / Support

• Credit Risk Analyst
• Compliance & Financial Crime Analyst

Knowledge

· Develop familiarity with best practice risk management policies, frameworks and GAAP analysis

Essential Skills and Experience of the Risk Analyst – Commercial Banking - London

Knowledge

· Awareness of different types of risk in a Bank

Experience

· 1-2 years in a Bank / Credit institution and/or

· Numerate Degree

Skills

· Evidence of numeracy skills

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to learn through in the role training and experience

· Good word, Excel, Powerpoint skills

· VBA and MS Access
