The Role

My client is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their growing team. You will be responsible for helping to bring their initial APIs and services to market and being a part of the execution of their ambitious roadmap! My client provides a unique and cutting-edge service to merchants, which also benefits the customer.

What you will do

• Greenfield work - Design, create and maintain APIs, systems and services across their engineering team. This includes development from scratch, which means you can implement clean and high-quality code from the beginning.

• Product ownership – you will own key parts of the product and work autonomously. They are a small team of people who contribute and offer their own ideas.

• Collaborate with members across the organization, especially the Product Team.

• Contribute to hiring your co-workers in the future. What will make you a good fit

• You have experience writing high-quality code in object-oriented languages in the past. If you have Golang experience, this is very beneficial. My client is open to provide training in Golang if you have solid experience in another language such as Java or C, and you’re keen to learn Golang.

• You have at least 5 years of experience designing and putting highly scalable and reliable REST APIs in place.

The Tech

Golang, GCP, Linear for issue tracking, Postman for API development, Slack for communication internally, Github as source control and many others. (Front-end is React & Typescript).
