My client, a rapidly growing Insurance specialist, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance professional to join as Head of Compliance focusing on Wholesale & Operations; this position would suit an experienced Senior Manager.
Role Responsibilities:
~ Provide expert compliance advice to the Wholesale Division on all regulatory matters
~ Ensure that all key business risks are managed effectively and within tolerance
~ Ensure all reporting requirements are delivered by the team on time, to a suitable quality, and appropriate scheduling and review is in place where internal contributions are required
~ Attend the Wholesale Executive Committee, preparing and presenting the monthly report
~ Support the Risk & Compliance Monitoring Framework, identify areas for review, and support the Head of Compliance Monitoring to recommend appropriate actions for mitigation
~ Ensure regular updates to the Risk Registers and Risk reporting, provided by the Risk & Compliance Heads of the Retail & Franchise Divisions
~ Oversee the key control framework for compliance operations including review scheduling
~ Provide regular reports and review results, identification of themes and commentary on progress of actions for the Executive Committee / Group Risk Committee as appropriate
~ Develop and maintain knowledge of regulatory and legal risks to the business
~ Maintain market knowledge to allow a suitable commercial approach to be taken
~ Develop and maintain knowledge of the business as it continues to grow
~ Identify own development needs and relevant training to address
Experience Required:
~ Minimum 10 years experience working in a General Insurance Risk & Compliance function
~ Deep knowledge of compliance in a Lloyds / London Market environment (including operation of TOBAs, binders, Bordereaux, etc)
~ Team management experience preferred
~ Wider experience in Wholesale Insurance Broking or MGAs a distinct advantage
~ Educated to degree standard preferred
~ Relevant professional qualification preferred, but not essential
~ Strong knowledge and experience of UK regulatory requirements
~ Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing
