We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Radiotherapy Electronics Engineer to participate in delivering a high quality maintenance & repair service to the Department of Radiotherapy. This is a rare opportunity to join a team of highly experienced engineers. You will be educated to B.Sc. degree level or equivalent in electronics and electrical engineering, with extensive of experience in the field of radiotherapy, working with linear accelerators.
Linear accelerators incorporate high voltage systems, high vacuum systems, high power RF systems and circuits, cooling systems, microcontroller based systems, pressurised gas systems and complex mechanical systems; as such you will be expected to confidently work in any of these areas where faults can arise. Thiscreates a dynamic working environment where each day can hold a multitude of challenges and opportunities to learn. The department boasts fully equipped electronics and mechanical workshops to enable on site repairs and to assist in the development of bespoke projects from within the trust and beyond which you would be a part of.
The Department Radiation Physics & Radiobiology provides a full range of complex radiotherapy scientific and technical services primarily at Charing Cross Hospital but also at Hammersmith Hospital. The major clinical equipment includes six Varian linear accelerators, a dedicated radiotherapy CT unit, a High Dose Rate brachytherapy device, by Elekta, and a medium energy X-ray unit, X-Strahl.
Cancer services as a whole continue to evolve within the Trust and with this in mind the Department of Radiation Physics & Radiobiology has a positive attitude towards professional development.
