CONSTRUCTION PLANNER (CIVIL ENGINEERING) - SOUTHERN ENGLAND
This major civil engineering contractor has been trading for over 50 years and is known for a customer focused and collaborative approach working on substantial aviation, gas, industrial, marine, wind energy, highways and rail projects in the UK, Ireland and internationally.
They have a culture of HSEQ excellence and one of the largest in house plant fleets in Europe giving them unprecedented control over delivering projects on time and to budget. The culture of the organisation is collaborative, both in house and with partners and they have a non adversarial culture.
They have achieved a major contract win on the HS2 rail project in the central zone and are looking to appoint a civil engineering construction planner to keep records of all site activities and maintain the project schedule as well as compiling progress reports and helping the team bring in the project on time and to budget.
In detail, candidates will attend regular meetings with both internal and external project stakeholders, compiling progress reports, recording and monitoring site plant and personnel and analysing construction output against costs with the commercial team and Project Director.
The right candidate will be degree qualified in either civil engineering or quantity surveying with a minimum of 5 years on site civil engineering experience on similar heavy engineering projects. They will also have practical experience of Primavera 6/ Tilos or MS Project software on these projects.
The ability to demonstrate a track record in developing and supporting detailed contractual claim scenario`s will be a major advantage.
The ability to scope, cost and resource load the programme is desirable so an understanding of major civil engineering projects is required so that you can track weekly progress and highlight potential conflict area`s and critical path work activities.
