We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in our Birmingham office, initially working as part of our Main Works Civils High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an experienced Digital Information Manager.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

The Digital Information Manager will be accountable for the delivery of the information management controls on a project ensuring:

  • Information Management Plan – ensure compliance and implementation.
  • Data Use – ensure data is captured, management and effectively used in decision making processes.
  • IM Delivery Support – acting as a point of contact for queries from the SL team. Provide support and develop training where required for the implementation of data management techniques across the project, enabling more innovative data collection and use as the project progresses.
  • Collaboration and knowledge sharing – working with other IMs to ensure consistency in our approach and cross cutting innovation
  • Use of innovative tools - use existing data/visualisation dashboards to provide solutions to improve delivery. Ensure existing tools are implemented to drive data based decision making.
  • MIDP ­- Drive the correct use of the MIDP and ensure it is accurate, updated and reporting the correct delivery details.
  • BIM/CAD - Assist and work in collaboration with the project team to ensure effective use of the BIM models using viewing tools, the imodel hub or other suitable collaboration tools.
  • Assurance - Ensure drawings are effectively reviewed, model checking and AIMS validation is to standard.
  • Good relationships are maintained with all internal and external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.
  • Main Duties

    Working in collaboration with our designers and contract partners, the Digital Information Manager will be involved in a variety of tasks, that may change depending on project and specific project roles:

  • To work within a project team to achieve the project objectives.
  • Implementation of the project CDE, identifying the project specific requirements, setting access rights and permissions.
  • Review and maintain the information and document management procedures/function in line with projects requirements;
  • Receive, maintain and coordinate information into and within the Information Model
  • Ensure project requirements are effectively communicated to the team
  • Responsible for managing and controlling project documents, both incoming and outgoing;
  • Maintain project based ProjectWise/AssetWise CDE Solution
  • Populate the information exchange format for the Information Model
  • Creation of project specific standards and/or processes to achieve a continuous improvement in quality and efficiency where required.
  • Communicating with management, vendors and internal departments to coordinate overall design documentation output
  • Liaise with wider design team to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across the project.
  • Provide technical support to Resolve IM related queries escalating
  • Train project users on the use of the CDE/EDMS within the project
  • Work unsupervised and manage your own workloads.
  • Contribute to the technical development of the business by application of new techniques, procedures and practices.
  • Experience

  • Recognised Information Management qualification or appropriate experience
  • CDE and/or EDMS experience at user level
  • Understanding of process mapping 
  • Senior Document Control experience
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels including stakeholder, ability to confidently deliver training to groups of users. 
  • Understanding of (BIM) Building Information Modelling
  • User level experience of Bentley Software including ProjectWise, OpenRoads, MicroStation
  • Knowledge of standards such as ISO 19650, PAS 1192:5
  • Administrator level experience using ProjectWise
