Pilgrims Hospices is currently recruiting for a Head Chef to join our Canterbury Hospice.
The Head Chef leads a skilled catering team of Cooks and Catering Assistants, operating a 365 day per year service providing a high-quality catering service to our patients, staff and visitors.
Food is a hugely important part of providing good End-of-Life care, and we are therefore looking for applicants with the passion and drive to deliver a catering service of the very highest standards. These services must provide nourishing and enjoyable meals while ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering facilities.
In addition to overseeing the hospices’ main kitchen, the post holder will be responsible for providing catering at our on-site training venue, as well as for meetings and hospice events.
Successful applicants will have experience running a professional kitchen and of providing high quality, cost effective catering. Working hours will vary according to a rota, with shifts including early, late and weekend working.
The job is available on a full time (40 hours per week) basis on an 8 month fixed term contract.
