Fixed Term Contract Position 15 months

NTS are inviting senior band 6 with minimum of 3 years tertiary (level 3) NICU experience to apply for positions on London’s only neonatal transfer service. Come and join us to learn and develop your skills and knowledge towards being an experienced neonatal transport nurse, caring for a range of sick neonates who require transfer across the London area. This career path will allow you to develop your portfolio, experience working within a small team setting, stabilising and transferring some of the sickest babies across London and the wider counties. You will also have exposure to the operational aspects of running a transport service, and delivering education/ outreach learning to not only our service users but also the NTS team. You will also become established on the nurse lead High/low dependency transfer team.

If successful you would be welcomed into a friendly team consisting of 3 neonatal consultants, specialist registrars/clinical fellows and experienced transport nurses. These team members are complemented by seconded EAC’s from the LAS (London Ambulance Service) and technicians from St John Ambulance Service. A full induction process is provided with competencies surrounding the transport situation and equipment. Shifts include rotation between duel and single clinician teams, days, including a twilight team, nights and weekends. There is also opportunities to train to become flight competent, (currently privately provided).

We also have secondments available, for 12 months, within the PCCU, tertiary level NICU and the wider Children’s hospital.
