Our city centre client is seeking a diligent payroll administrator for their busy team. This role will see you completing basic and routine payroll tasks and activities to assist and provide support to the pensions Payroll function. You will be responsible for working within in a team responsible for processing the pensioner payrolls.

Your role:

Communicate clearly with Pension Administration team members, including routine interactions regarding payroll and pensioner queries
Provide support for senior colleagues regarding ongoing payroll projects and specific business development activities
Support the team with new staff members and provide training to less experienced team members, checking and validating their work to ensure accuracy
Identify errors and to escalate issues where appropriate
Be proactive and take on personal responsibility and ownership for completion of tasks

A minimum 5 GCE's or equivalent at Grade 4 (previously C) or above, including Maths and English or relevant experience in a payroll based role
Experience of dealing with large volumes of payments across multiple clients would be advantageous.
Advantageous to have experience of administering at least one of the following pension schemes: Police Pension Scheme, Firefighters Pension Scheme, and/or Local Government Pension Scheme
Knowledge of the Aquila Heywood Altair pension administration system would be beneficial
Good interpersonal skills
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
Ability to work to tight timescales
Desire to improve standards and develop new procedures and working practices
Previous experience in a payroll/pensions/financial services environment would be advantageous
Experience of dealing with external clients and customers
Role: Payroll Administrator- experience essential
