An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the SouthYorkshire and Bassetlaw ICS to help transform the cancer workforce on a 18 month fixed term post. The postholder will take a lead role on behalf of the ICS and the Cancer Alliance, working within Health Education England, in implementing initiatives and managing programmes of work, identified to support the required expansion of skills and transformation of the Cancer Workforce as outlined in the Cancer Workforce Plan.

The post-holder will play a key role in ensuring that by having the right mix of skills and effective working across teams and care settings, the needs of people affected by Cancer are better met. A key part of the role will be to translate key pieces of national policy and strategy into practice and support services to implement and embed in local practice as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have well developed communication and organisational skills to support the Healthcare Partnership in managing their transformation and improvement programmes; and will have significant experience of managing complex projects that span organisational boundaries. Previous NHS experience and knowledge of the cancer workforce is highly desirable.

Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8a with a full-time starting salary of £45,753, with a pay step increase after 5 years’ service.

These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
